Start creating one of a kind knit T-shirts!  More and more beautiful knit fabrics are becoming available to the home sewist. Smile Spinners now stocks a wide variety of knit fabrics in various weights and fiber combos!!!! Organic cottons, Bamboo Rayon, and Ponte to name just a few!

In class we will be learning how to make the easy Lark T-Shirt. This pattern has a number of neck variations and sleeve lengths which should spark your creativity!  Clothing made from knit fabrics require less fitting, usually don't need zippers or buttons  but they do require some special skills. Learn the tips and tricks to use when working with those beautiful knit fabrics!


Supplies Needed:
     Pattern: Lark T-Shirt pattern (knit only)
     Fabric: See pattern envelope
     Thread
     Tracing paper

Tools Needed: Basic sewing supplies
     Rotary cutter
     Scissors
     Pins
     Sewing machine
     Serger (optional but very helpful)

Skill builders recommended:
     Know your machine, Knit tidbits working with knit fabrics

* Please note that you will need to have access to the Zoom platform via website or app. We would prefer that you join us on a tablet or smart phone for best results, because we will need to see your machines as well as your faces at many points through out the class. 

*Log-in info with a code will be sent, via e-mail,  to you prior to class. The code is needed to be admitted to the classroom.
You will be admitted to the classroom 5 minutes prior to the start of class.

Instructor: Jessica Bacon
Instructor Bio: Jessica holds a Bachelor's Degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Her focus of study included fashion design, tailoring, draping / pattern design, fabric development and production management. After graduation she worked in the fashion design industry in NYC for 10 years before returning to Central PA.
