This is a new group class that I have taught numerous times in Private classes!
Not the right length? No problem! Learn a few techniques that will give you confidence to hem any item!
While we won't be hemming your items in class, please bring some things along so I can demonstrate the best method to use for your garment.
Things we can discuss:
- Finding the correct length?
- Marking?
- Cutting off or maybe adding?
- Threads - what do I choose?
- Finishing the edge?
- Machine stitching- how to set-up our machine? How and why would I use a twin needle? How do I stitch the blind hem stitch on my machine?- - What about using the rolled hem foot?
- Can I serge it?
- What about hand stitching?
