NEW! French Braid Tree
New from Smile Spinners!
This new tree pattern was inspired by a French braid quilt that we recently had on display in our gallery.
It is available in 2 sizes, 36 X 65" which uses 4.5 inch strips and a smaller version that is 18 x 33" which uses 2.5" strips.
This is a project based class
Sessions: 2 face to face classes
Skill level: Confident Beginner
Class format: Demo and hands on
Class #1
In the first class we will be cutting and piecing our strips that will form our tree branches
Class #2
In the second class we will continue construction of the tree!
Supplies needed
- Pattern: available at Smile Spinners
- Fabric as indicated on the pattern
- Rotary cutter
- Ruler 6.5 x 24 or 8.5 x 24
- Sewing machine
- Open toe applique foot
- Blue washout marker
- Scissors
- Thread
Prior to class: If you would like
You can pre-shrink your fabrics and cut your fabrics into either 4.5" or 2.5" strips depending on the size of your tree.
Join use in the Smile Spinners classroom as we construct the tree.
