Welcome to Your Handmade Wardrobe!
AHH, the Ease of an Elastic Waistband!
Pull-on pants have so many versions, you could almost comprise an entire wardrobe out of them! While we encourage you to branch out and try a variety of pant styles, as far as bottoms go, this is the best place to start!
Choose the 'Athleisure' knit fabrics for an athletic look, a light chambray for a laid back and beachy feel, or some flannel for cozy PJs. You can't make a wrong choice! Really think about your look for this one. Head over to our pinterest page, Smile Spinners, for some inspiration. The shape of the leg and the type of fabric will make a huge difference in the style of pants you create.
This class will give you a great foundation for navigating a pattern, choosing silhouette, size and fabric. We'll work on some of the basics of garment construction, discuss seam finishes, adding pockets, attaching a waistband, inserting elastic and hemming.
On Smile Spinners' pinterest page you will find my pattern suggestions. I have personally worked with or recommend the suggested patterns. While I encourage you to make your own design choice, please stick to the recommendations presented on the Smile Spinners pinterest page.
