Long Arm Quilting Service
Have your reached the end of a project and need that little bit of help to get it across the 'finished line'?
We can help you get there!
Jo Stefanon has been doing our Long Arm Quilting for approx. 15 years.
A graphic designer and artist by trade, all of her quilting is done by hand.
Her work is meticulous and coupled with her artistic background make her the right person to trust when finishing your quilt!
There are a wide variety of designs to choose from or you can ask to do custom artwork.
See the samples below and make your choice.
Long Arm Quilting Service:
$50/hour
Other Services:
Seam Backing together- $25/hour
Binding: make and attach- $25/hour
Batting:
We prefer to use Quilters Dream Batting Blend, you can purchase batting HERE
Typically the batting is sold by the yard, so you can get the exact amount you need, this is something that can be picked up in shop when you drop off your quilt, or you can order it now.
Kindly note that we might reject your batting if its not 'sturdy' enough for long arm quilting, that is to say, that batting is stretched onto the frame of the long arm and must be high quality. At Smile Spinners, your projects are as important to us, as they are to you and we wouldn't recommend to use a product unless we would use it ourselves. Quilters Dream batting is the most superior on the market and also has the lowest shrinkage rate (0-3%) which means when your quilt is washed it won't pucker up.
(Cathy teaches an awesome class about Batting, HERE, if you want to know more about what makes a quality batting!)
Backing:
You can pretty much use whatever backing you'd like. That includes, cotton poplin, 108' wide cotton poplin, flannel, minky etc, we have loads of options and you can find them HERE. Just make sure you get enough yardage!
Measuring your Quilt, Backing & Batting:
When measuring your quilt be sure to add 6" to the L x W for backing and batting.
All projects for quilting will be dropped off and picked up at Smile Spinners Brick and Mortar Store.
